We just keep having good days! Today Finley was able to finish her whole bottle in 15 minutes so her doctor added an additional daily bottle/breast feed. This evening we attempted breastfeeding for the first time and Finley seemed like she was an old pro! She latched right on and did not want to get off when the time was up. (Her bottle and breast feeds are timed so that she doesn't use up more energy/calories than she consumes.) She gained another ounce today too, which puts her up to 3 lbs 1 oz and she's grown an inch since birth!
The NICU that Finley's in is divided into seven bays and two of the bays - Bay 5 and Bay 7 - are where the stable babies are put. Miss Finley got moved to Bay 7 today so she is officially in the NICU just as a 'feeder & grower' baby! As a NICU staff member said, Finley is one step closer to being out the door!
