Our Trip to Llano

Mrs. Shanks was sweet enough to invite us out to her ranch for Good Friday and I cannot think of a better way to spend a spring day than to revel in the beauty of the Texas hill country.  The wildflowers were blooming everywhere thanks to all the rain we have received this spring.  It was such a refreshing change of pace to leave city life behind, even if only for a day.

Finley was ready for her day at the ranch!

 beautiful wildflowers were everywhere!

starting to get more than a little unhappy about being in the car so long

when we pulled into the ranch, Andrew and Finley rescued a turtle who was in the road

Fin didn't want to get too close to it

 more than just bluebonnets!

Andrew let Finley pretend to drive the truck

we weren't the only ones taking bluebonnet pictures!

 Longhorn!

a really old barn on June's ranch

to take the picture of the barn, I had to kneel in the road (since we were already on the ranch there wasn't any road traffic).  Finley knows that you're supposed to be in a road though, so she ran towards me yelling, "Be careful, mommy!  Cars are coming!"

 Finley in the flowers

Looking introspective while sitting on the well (don't worry - it's covered!)

 Gigi and Finley

Finley sure does love to laugh with her Gigi!

 Three generations of Olivers

 Sweet girl!

 Family picture

Swinging with Gigi (dressed in one of June's scarves)

eating an Easter cookie with Daddy

 "These cookies are good!"

Braydon and Finley are ready for their Easter egg hunt!

Ornery Finley quickly figured out that it was easier just to take eggs out of Braydon's basket rather than finding them herself!

When B voiced his displeasure, Finley did give him three back...

but then she stole them back a few minutes later!

B and F on the swing

 Having a laugh with Franko

Finley and Braydon had so much fun pushing Franko in the swing

Two tired kids!
